Apple’s WWDC 2013 tickets sold out – in under 3 minutes

Tickets for Apple’s annual Worldwide Developer Conference this year went on sale at 1:00 p.m. EDT (April 25th) and it took less than 3 minutes for all of the tickets to go. To put Thursday’s unbelievable sellout into context, WWDC 2011 sold out in just under 12 hours and WWDC 2012 sold out in about 2 hours. Among the highlights expected at this year’s WWDC are an overhauled user interface in Apple’s iOS 7 software and an updated version of OS X. Apple might have a few surprises in store as well, and the show kicks off on June 10th in San Francisco.

Apple Stock. Buy now.

It is very rare that I do this but the last time I told all my blog friends to buy stock in Apple the value doubled in less than a year. It is that time again. If you wanted to know when the right time was to buy Apple stock it is now. I have listed a few reasons below on why I feel so strongly about this.

Disclaimer: INVEST WITH CAUTION. THIS IS NOT A GUARANTEE. THIS IS STRICTLY MY PERSONAL OPINION BACKED WITH RESEARCH.

Support:

Price raising rumors:

1) iWatch coming soon.
2) Apple radio (like Pandora) coming soon.
3) iTV in the works.
4) iOS overhaul rumored for iOS 7.
5) It is about that time of the year for a new iPhone to be announced.

There are a lot more factors that contribute to stock value. Buy with caution. There is no such thing as a sure thing. Apple could crash and burn tomorrow which is highly unlikely. But be smart and do your own research. I have recently purchased additional Apple shares. The last time I gave this advice I doubled mine and my followers money.

TheChive App Overhaul

Ok so not a complete overhaul. But it looks great. I am glad that they added the videos back to the latest feed. Also love the pull to refresh.

Use that iPad during take off

BGR.com reports:

In a move that will be welcome to all tech-savvy frequent fliers, the Federal Aviation Administration may finally loosen its rules on using electronic devices during flight takeoffs and landings. The New York Times reports that the FAA plans to allow fliers to use their laptops and tablets while set to “airplane mode” at during the takeoff and landing process by the end of the year. This doesn’t give fliers carte blanche to keep all their devices on throughout the whole flight, however, since the FAA would keep its current rules in place for cellphones and smartphones. News of a potential rule change comes just over a year after the FAA promised to give revising its in-flight electronics rules “a fresh look.” Outgoing Federal Communications Commission chairman Julius Genachowski late last year urged the FAA to step up their efforts to change the rules and said that the agency should “enable greater use of tablets, e-readers, and other portable devices” on flights.

Finally: HBO GO, MAX GO UPDATED WITH AIRPLAY STREAMING TO APPLE TV

HBO on Tuesday updated its HBO GO and MAX GO applications for the iPhone and iPad, adding long-awaited AirPlay support. The new update will allow cable and satellite TV customers who subscribe to either HBO or Cinemax to stream on-demand content via their iOS devices to any Apple TV set-top box. The announcement was made by HBO President and COO Eric Kessler during the AllThingsD: Dive Into Media conference in San Francisco, and both app updates are available immediately in Apple’s (AAPL) App Store.

BLOOMBERG: APPLE’S IWATCH IS REAL AND THERE’S ALREADY A HUGE TEAM WORKING ON IT

The web is abuzz with chatter surrounding Apple’s (AAPL) rumored “iWatch,” which both The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal detailed in recent reports. Little is actually known about the device and the only info we really have at this point is that it is in development, it runs iOS and it may feature a curved glass face, which obviously isn’t very uncommon for a wristwatch. Bloomberg added some fuel to the fire on Tuesday evening when it reported that Apple’s iWatch is real and it is likely “beyond the experimentation phase;” its sources suggest that a team of more than 100 Apple employees including senior director of engineering James Foster is currently working on the device. The site offered no guess as to when the iWatch might launch.
